I was born at Patna on December 28, 1948 in Judge’s bungalow, located on Sinha Library Road. I, originally belong to a highly educated Zamindar family of Bhagalpur (Bihar), commonly known as Silk City of India. I had my schooling in various cities of Bihar and Intermediate education at TNB College, Bhagalpur, Subsequently obtained degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bhagalpur College of Engineering (1963-67).
I had a literary & artistic bent of mind since childhood. I started writing stories in newspapers and participated in drama, debating competition etc. from school days.
In a way, I landed in Engineering College by default, as Engineering was not my cup of tea. There were not too many options available then.
After a brief stint as an Engineer in a PSU, I resigned from the job and went for a post-graduation in Management.
And since then, I am self-employed in Marketing & Sales segment as a Consultant. I have travelled extensively across the globe on professional visits. Presently, I am living in Delhi / NCR.
Wrote features for “The Statesman” &’ The Hindustan Times”. Had a weekly column in “The Times of India’, captioned “Off the Record”, which covered important happening of the week in a satirical format.
As if all these were not enough, I squeezed out time for real passion. I have acted in more than one hundred Feature/ Documentary films, TV Serials, TV Talk Shows, Plays, and Print Advertisement etc.
I am the only actor who has the privilege of playing the role of Mahatma Gandhi in over a few dozen Films/ TV Serials/ Talk shows, Theatre etc.
